I am looking for a program that allows the com ports to be standard input
and output. CTTY does not work on any dos version (up to 4.01) i have tried.
I have tried simply: mode com1:9600,n,8,1,P
                     ctty com1
             and just got locked up...
This is even after a successful connection through PCPLUS...
I have access to ftp. Please help. Thanx in advance.

Try taking out any TSRs in the machine: the popular DOSEDIT is notorious for clobbering CTTY. So is CED. DOS is also a bit more fussy about handshaking than many other programs. So, on the connector which plugs onto your COM1, tie together: DTR/DSR/CD, and CTS/RTS. (On a 25-pin connector, this would be 6/8/20 and 4/5.) ----------------------------------------------------- Gordon S. Hlavenka cgordon@vpnet.chi.il.us Disclaimer: Yeah, I said it. So what?
