I recently received a computer with what the salesman assured me was to be a Paradise VGA 1024 card with 512 K. However, there is no mention of Paradise on the board (the graphics chip was made by Western Digital) and graphics documentation was titled simply "VGA 1024 hardware and software installation". Inside there was a mention of Western Digital. The salesman now says that Western Digital has taken over Paradise. Two basic installation programs were provided: VGA1024, which is used to set modes (there is no autoswitching), and RAMBIOS, which is supposed to copy the card's bios to ram in order to speed things up. VGA1024 works fine, but RAMBIOS.exe crashes the machine. Also, drivers for various packages, most of which I don't use, were provided. I was able to use the Word Perfect 5.0 800x600 driver. I specified the Paradise VGA 1024 (alias VGA Pro, I assume) because it had good reviews and had heard that there were a lot of drivers for it. However, there were no drivers for Windows 3.0. Does anyone know whether, from the above description, whether this is probably the Paradise board (in disguise), and assuming it *is* , where I can obtain super VGA drivers for Word Perfect 5.0 (need 1024x768) and Windows 3.0 (need 800x600 and 1024x768). Thanks in advance! Jim Beauchamp j-beauchamp@uiuc.edu

However, there is no mention of Call thw Western Digital Imaging BBS at 415-968-1834 and download the drivers. Look in the "Individual Drivers" section in the Paradise VGA area, so you can download single files instead of 300K humongoids with junk you don't need.
