I recently saw an ad in "Computer Shopper" for a really cool product that is called a "Backpack" disk drive. They have models for both 3.5 and 5.25" disks. They plug into the parallel interface, and then you can "backpack" your printer into the back of that. They are reasonably priced ($300-400). They have a high-density model that can put 2.8meg on a 3.5" disk. Has anyone seen/used one of these things? How are the transfer rates compared to a typical 3.5" drive (say the 770K type on a Toshiba T1000 laptop)? If you've seen one, what kind of disk takes the 2.8meg formatting? For my purposes, if the speed was pretty good, it woud be an ideal homebase disk drive for my laptop: lots of space on a removeable media.
