[net.ham-radio] Soviet Ham Band DX

soomre@mred.DEC (06/25/85)

In the Radio Moscow DX Program on June 24, 1985 host Sergi Egorov
mentioned that soviet hams have had good dxing conditions in the
vhf bands of 65.8-73 MHZ and 87.5-108 MHZ.

I thought the 72 MHZ region was used in Europe, as the 30-50 MHZ band
is used here in the USA. I also thought the other band was for fm
broadcast, although the WRTVH lists no fm stations in the USSR.
However, some are listed in communist satellite countries.

Any insights on this ??
