[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] ST01 controller question

bg11+@andrew.cmu.edu (Brian E. Gallew) (10/17/90)

I have an ST296N SCSI disk with an ST01 controller card, and my question
is: Can I daisy-chain more disks, and if so, how many? I understand
that one of the advantages of the SCSI interface, aside from intelligent
device use, is the ability to daisy-chain several together while only
using one I/O slot. I know that on a Mac you can have up to 7. Is this
true for the ST01? Do I need to specify which device it will be when
ordering it (i.e. does it need a particular cable)? Can I boot off of
any drive?

Inquiring minds want to know.
