A friend of mine is looking for a piece of software that simulates the 370 architecture. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, for example on the IBM pc, or on some unix machine, or just a C program ... Any help/pointers are appreciated. -Marcel -- ######################################### # Marcel J.E. >>> A friend of mine is looking for a piece of software that simulates >>> the 370 architecture. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, for example >>> on the IBM pc, or on some unix machine, or just a C program ... ---------- There is a program package from mid-1987, labelled PC370R30.ARC, which provides a System/370 assembler running under MSDOS, an associated linker, and a run-time environment that purports to simulate the System/370 CPU architecture (I/O, channels, etc may not be supported). The intention of the package was to allow budding System/370 assembler programmers a place to develop their skills away from the expensive mainframe. If you can't find this in the usual places (e.g. BBS, SIMTEL), e-mail me, and I'll see if I can dredge it up from my personal inventory. -- --------------------- Steve Harrold swh@hpda.hp.com ...hplabs!hpda!swh HPG200/11 (408) 447-5580 ---------------------
