I am wondering if anyone has ever experience the following problem: I was installing Microsoft Works 2.00 on my girlfriend's PC XT clone (4.77Mhz, 40meg, CGA RGB color), using the SETUP utility. I noticed that about 1/2 of the time, booting WORKS would generate SNOW on the CGA screen, even though the program was configured not to write directly to video memory. I reinstalled the software, same problem. Sometimes the CGA is correctly detected and there is no snow, other times the screen is unreadable. Once the program is loaded in the "proper" mode, it will continue to function properly until the program is exited and reloaded, at which time it may or may not work properly. Is this a known bug? Does the XT have a hardware problem??? -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pascal Gosselin | Internet: Pascal@cam.org Applelink: CDA0585 | | Gest-Mac Inc.
