[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Amstrad 1512DD mouse/modem conflict

paterson@umiami.miami.edu (10/25/90)

I'm looking for a little advice on to change, if possible, where the input fut
from my mouse goes to my Amstrad PC1512DD. I've figured out that it's
currently going to COM1 (presumably a la the MOUSE.COM driver that came with
the system), but that's giving me a headache when I want to use it concurrently
with my modem (external, U.S. Robotics, which uses, you guessed it, the serial
port in COM1).

I freely admit to a large amount of ignorance in these matters (if that's not
already obvious :^)). Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly
appreciated, either to redirect the mouse or the modem so that they do not
conflict.

Replies by e-mail, please--I hardly ever have time to read news lately
(sniff!). I will be happy to summarize if so requested.
