[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] MemoryMate is shareware?

tzhou@riemann.math.purdue.edu (10/24/90)

I believe that I once saw MemoryMate (a PIM like program, like
or comparable to Info-Select) in a catalog of shareware bulletin
board.

I'm here trying to find it in the archive site
	wuarchive.wustl.edu
but am having no luck.

Does any one know what directory it's in and under what title
or may be it should be another archive site that I can access
here from the University mainframe 'FTP'?

Thanks to all,
Joe

What you saw was a shareware product called "Instant Recall." This program
was purchased by Broderbund Software, upgraded, and renamed "Memory Mate."

Subsequently a commercial PIM called "Instant Recall" was brought out by
another company. This "IR" is not in any way related to the shareware
product. I tried it, but it conflicted with so many things I returned it
for a refund :-(

Memory Mate takes about 90K of RAM in resident mode. (!!) Commercial IR
takes 32K. Commercial IR has an integrated phone dialer which is a nice
touch.

I currently use Memory Mate, with Sidekick's dialer on top of it. If you
can find Instant on ftp someplace, I think you'll like it. You can convert
the database file to Memory Mate if you upgrade.
