We have an AST 386SX with an NEC multisync monitor that seems to randomly switch from color to monochrome. So far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be any particular pattern to what software someone was running when it switched, but it isn't always easy to find out who was using the system and just when it switched. (The last person we tried to blame insisted it was mono before he sat down to run wordperfect on the machine.) This isn't my problem by any stretch of the imagination but I'm curious enough to play around and try to find out what's going on (translation: I have much more important things I don't feel like doing) and would welcome any suggestions as to what might be happening.
