Hi, One of the reasons I did NOT update from Lotus-123 2.1 to 3.0 was PC Magazine's desciption of the Lotus DOS extender. While I do have the extra extended memory that it requires, I have it set up as a RAM disc that I VERY much need for several of my other applications and the prospect of rebooting all the time just to run Lotus did not appeal to me at all. I noted to my wife the other day that version 3.1 is supposed to be supported under MS-Windows and my wife took that to mean that I wanted the update (as my anniversary present). (Windows is a purchase I am planning soon for my 286, but have NOT yet gotten.) I thought that perhaps before I took the shrink wrap off the box (thus saving my marriage) or returning it (with the resulting problems) that I would ask the net if the DOS extender is still a required part of the update. It seemed possible to me that they dropped it to make 123 Windows 3.0 compatable. Did I get lucky? Frank frank@odetics.com or uunet!odetics!frank
