The C/MS chips fit into two empty sockets on the Sound Blaster and allow the Sound Blaster to be compatible with the C/MS board, and the Game Blaster board. The C/MS board was the first board (I think) that Creative Labs came out with. This allows you to use some of the software that they sell for composing etc... with the Sound Blaster. You can order the chips for about $28 or so I think from Creative Labs. As I stated in my earlier posting the chips came with no instructions and no software but - I finally got through to tech. support last night and those of us that ordered the chips when they were first released did not get a new set of drivers required to use the chips; which should come on a disk with the chips. The driver and other utilities are available on the Creative Labs BBS. The file is named cms.com I don't have the number handy but if you would like it send me email and I will gladly send it to you. If you don't have a modem access to the BBS you can call tech. support and they will send the software out to you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patrick McCormick MEE-10 Advanced Graphics And Parallel Systems MS K488 Los Alamos National Labs Los Alamos, NM 87545 (505) 667-8495 mcormick@agps.lanl.gov --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
