I'm trying to use the FASTAPE V4.00 software supplied by Archive for their 60M tape system/controller (don't have the numbers handy - it's the DC600A size 1/4" tapes). This software is mighty old, from around 1986/1987, and doesn't function well under MS-DOS V4.01. It seems to have problems with the newer releases of DOS in terms of the FAT tables and such. Is there newer software that works better? Does anyone out there have other software that will work with this puppy? I'd like to write tar format tapes, but just being able to write in a format where I can get the data back off would be nice! Does anyone have the phone number of Archive? It's not in my manuals.
