Hello. I am trying to put together a system for a friend that has her own tax business. Her needs are to be able to access the IRS electronic filing system. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with all the necessary hardware needed. For simple purposes, lets just say she will have an 8088 machine with a single floppy drive and monochrome. What I need to know is from here, what would she need to be able to use the IRS system. Cost is an issue, though it is realized that there is going to be considerable cost. In other words, we are looking for the lowest priced packages. She does not plan on accessing it thousands of times a day. If you have any information, including, company name/phone number for any of the pieces listed, please mail me. If you just know exactly what we would need hardware/software wise, also mail. I am just totally lost. I have called a few places and they give me quotes of a couple of thousand dollars or more and never have every piece needed. The IRS won't tell me any brands/companies because it would be considered "favoratism". Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try to summarize as soon as the responses stop coming in.
