[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Help with RAM expansion

ucoerp@swuts.swbt.com (1897] Robert Paster) (11/07/90)

I would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about a WINDEX
(Windows Expansion) memory board from Memrel. This is a memory board
advertised in Computer Shopper for $295 at the Card Shop. The ad says
it is designed for use with Windows 3.0.

It comes with data compression, and disk caching software, and has a 5
year warranty. It also comes with a ten day free trial. The price
includes 2Mb of RAM (?) on the card, but the ad doesn't say how much
the card can hold in total. It does show each added Mb costs $50.

Any information would be helpful. I'm looking to add memory to a 286
machine, with 1Mb currently installed. I'd like to run Windows, but
feel I need added RAM to do so.

Thanks in advance. Send e-mail to address below, and I'll post a
summary if I get enough responses.
