Hi everybody. I'm asking this for a relative who just got a new computer. I tried to help him, but in the limited time I had couldn't fix it. He's got a Commodore '286 PC (12 MHz) and a Star GX(?)-20 printer. Everything's fine, except that when he runs Lotus 1-2-3 the printer will overprint each line with the next ones. No line feeds. Everything is printed on the same line. In the Lotus install menu there is an option for Star GX-10 and Star GX-15 printers (same option) but not for GX-20 (it's probably newer than the install version). We chose the GX-10,GX-15 option, assuming the GX-20 would probably be compatible with that. But, as described, it seems it isn't. Under WP5.1 or just plain DOS, the printer works fine. I've tried to select from the Lotus install menu an 'unknown' printer without auto-line-feed capabilities, but that didn't help. Toggling the printers switch for auto-line feed *DID* help, but now under WP and DOS every LF causes *two* linefeeds on the printer. Anybody got a clue? Thanks in advance. Oh, and then this: replies are preferred this week, as I will be gone from my current employer next week, and won't be able to read the news or mail anymore (sniff). -- _ _ / U | Lex Wassenberg, Philips TDS, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands /__ < lexw@idca.tds.philips.nl 88 |_\ "Since nobody understands me, I speak only for myself."
