From an article in the NRC Handelsblad (Rotterdam, Netherlands), foreign weekly edition, 85.7.23: "The first Dutch astronaut, Dr. Wubbo Ockels, has received a "C" ham radio license from the PTT. With this license, Ockels is authorized to transmit on frequencies above 144 MHz. Ockels will use this license during his space mission this October. At that time, he will in cooperation with the VERON [the major Dutch ham radio society] conduct radio transmission experiments [presumably that means ham radio contacts, "experiments" is the official Dutch view of ham radio] from space." That's all I know; I wonder if someone has heard confirmation or additional information. By the way, if this is accurate it should be a strong boost for no-code license proponents; the "C" license mentioned here is indeed a no-code license.
