I transferred a IBM PC MS Word file to a Mac using Mac's conversion utility. I ran into several anomalies: o After I read in one file and saved it back, some other files can no longer be recognized by Mac's MS Word, that is, they don't show on the open file list. But they are still on the disk. o The footnote numbering is no longer correct. What I have got, for example, is 1,2,3,1,2... I am using MS Word 3.0 on IBM PC and 4.0 on Mac. Could anybody give me some hint about what might go wrong? Should the conversion be the possible problem? Thanks in advance. Chin-Ho Yeh yeh@cs.unc.edu
