Can anyone recommend a *good* introductory book on pc's? I need a book that not only covers basic DOS commands, but also explains what an operating system is, so that novices can understand it. It should also cover search paths, files & directories, hardware rudiments, etc. What I really need is a book that's LUCID and simple, not necessarily comprehensive. P.S. This posting was prompted by a note in my mailbox this morning from a colleague asking me if I had any information on "cereal ports". ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glenn Davis Stone BITNET stone@cunixc Columbia University INTERNET stone@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu -------------------------------------------------------------------------
