[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Tech. info on hard drive

ce1zzes@prism.gatech.EDU (Eric Sheppard) (11/28/90)

I have an old IMI 5018H hard drive (15Meg) that I would like to format on
the PC. I have the necessary specs (6 heads, 306 cyls, 214 WP), but the
drive select block on the drive is a very cryptic breakable-link type.
It has no markings other than "DS1", at one end of the DIP socket.
I would like to know how to set the jumpers on this block to get it to
work with my computer. Can anyone with access to the technical information
for this drive help me out?

How about trying to move the jumpers from the DS1 pair over to the pair of
jumper points right next to it? I am assuming that you have a twist in the
hard drive cable and that you are going to use this on a 286 computer.
