VIDEO INTERFACE FOR THE YAESU FRG9600 VHF/UHF SWL RECEIVER: I would like to update my review of the Yaesu 9600 to include the video interface. I have had the video interface for over a month now and love it. The module was easy to install and came up running. They provide a true 72 ohm coax cable for connecting to the video monitor, and it is noticeable better then the audio cable I have been using. The instruction are direct translation of Japanese and could be better, but it is obvious the correct way and position to install the PC. *** CAUTION *** Beside the caution they give you about static handling of MOS There should also be a CAUTION about removing the top cover. The SPEAKER WIRES and SPEAKER are on the top cover so remove it slowly to avoid breaking any wires. I have had some difficulty tuning in good audio and video at the same time, however it is dependent on the TV station that I am watching so I would assume it is the difference between stations, I have not tried to retune the 4.5 MHZ trap to see if a compromise position could be found. The adjustment for video agc was simple and not critical. For 25 dollars it is an excellent option, and provides better sensitivity then my TV set. The reason for the inexpensive price ( I believe ) is that fact that it look like a plug in option for a TV set.
