Last Sunday evening I was in darkest Eastern Shore Maryland, coming back from "the shore" and tuning across the FM BC band. I discovered French- speaking stations strong enough to cover up the Washington/Baltimore stations on 88.5 and 89.3 MHz. Since there is no station here on 88.1 (except a 10 watter), the Canadian station on that frequency was Q5. I didn't get any calls, but they did mention Montreal, etc. I have tried to find a frequency/power/location listing for Canadian FM BC stations without luck. The 1985 Broadcasting Yearbook is hopeless. The World Radio Television Handbook (about 1983) is worse. Can anyone suggest a current reliable source? This experience was especially frustrating since I was 2 hours from home and SURE that 6 and probably 2 were open for sporadic E propagation. In fact they were, and someone worked Spain cross-band 6 to 10. The Spanish aren't allowed on 6. Thanks in advance. Bob, W3OTC <carpenter@nbs-vms.arpa> ------
