JIM (KY2D),
Having gone through the removal of a roof mount similar to the one you describe
I would suggest the following:
1. Purchase some HARDWOOD doweling the size (or slightly larger) than the holes
left by the screws.
2. Bore out the holes to ensure a snug fit for the dowels.
3. After covering the dowels with roof tar, drive them into the holes.
4. Then liberally apply additional roof tar over the dowels.
NOTE: If you drive the dowel in too low water will have a tendency to puddle
over the dowel head, therefore, it is better to leave about 1/4" dowel above
the roof line.
I learned the above through personnal experiance, and now sleep in a dry
bedroom.
Good Luck,
