I've got a question about DOS device drivers. Every hardware and software package I get has their own set of drivers shipped with the package. Are all these drivers necessary? For example, I just loaded AutoCAD onto my system, and it had almost 1Meg worth of drivers! Since it will be impossible to have all of these devices on my system, I'd like to cut back on the amount of disk space used by removing some of these from my hard disk (I have them all back up on floppies, in case I ever do need them.) Also, would it be possible to have only a single driver for a device that can be shared among several software packages, or are drivers specifically written for a given software package? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! SJO
