I am most interested in a receiver of this type and appreciate any info on its specs, operation, availability, or price. I understand thru a friend who saw one at the 1985 ANARC (Association of North American Radio Clubs) Convention, it was quite a unit (they had a prototype there). However, I am told on the other hand that its price maybe somewhat high (in the $900-$1000) range. Even with dealer discounts, that makes it $600-$700. In my mind, that's a lot of money for a fancy monitor/scanner radio. A fellow ham at work here, says he has an associate who travels to Japan (where the radios are manufactured) and will be getting as much info as possible on the receiver.
