I have a 286-12Mhz system that isn't quite fast enough anymore. Can I just yank out the motherboard and plop in a 486 (or 386)?? Are they the same footprint?? Also, can I still use my EGA card/monitor setup (I just need processing speed, not graphics)?? Thank you in advance, Michael

Probably. >Are they the same footprint?? Maybe, do you have a "baby" AT board, some were made to fit into XT cases, then some genius figured he could save $0.05 per case by making a "baby" AT case; full sized AT boards won't fit into a "baby" AT cases. > >Also, can I still use my EGA card/monitor setup (I just need processing >speed, not graphics)?? Yes, you can just drop that 486 board in, and all your old cards will work. The same goes for the 386 and 386SX. Rick Kelly Charles River Data Systems 508-626-1011 rmk@frog.UUCP
