Does it exist yet? If not, does anyone have any idea when it might be released. I seem to recall rumours of a release around the end of 1990. If it does exist, does anyone know anything about its features. Where can I get it? ta Mark -- ---------------- Eml: mrh@camcon.co.uk or mrh@camcon.uucp | Mark Hughes | Tel: +44 (0) 223 420024 Cambridge Consultants Ltd. |(Compware & CCL)| Fax: +44 (0) 223 423373 The Science Park, Milton Road, ---------------- Tlx: 81481 (CCL G) Cambridge, CB4 2JB, UK.

It exists, and the BETAversion is out since Oct. or Nov 90. Two nice features : 1. It loads most of its kernel into the memory between the adapters (you've got about 600- 620 K free memory) 2. Help : every commands now has a included help text. There are some other features (e.g. DosShell with some(!) multitasking) , but you'll see !! -- Torsten Sturm (BYTESTORM INC.) tnsturm@faui09.informatik.uni-erlangen.de testurm@faui41 testurm@faui43

I know DR-DOS 5.0 is out. I've heard pretty good reviews over it; Recent issue (one before "current") had an article over it. -e.b ============================================================================== Eric Berggren | "Round and round the while() loop goes; Computer Science/Eng. | Whether it stops," Turing says, berggren@eecs.cs.pdx.edu | "nobody knows."

I heard (on the net) that MS is wary of another DOS 4.0/4.01. 4.0 had enough bugs that by the time 4.01 came out, people had decided they could get along on 3.3. So MS is testing 5.0 very carefully. Anyway, that's the story I heard. -ted- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ted@helios.ucsc.edu |"He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the W (408)459-2110 |Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness H (408)423-2444 |and to walk humbly with your God?"
