While I know that there is quite a number of "fly-by-day" under $3K clone 486 dealers, the problem is "who can you trust?" Reviewed in today's L.A. Times "Computer File" column is Positive Corp's i486-25 machine, which sells for $2,999 at Price Club and Sams, as well as mail order for ~200 more. The machine includes two floppies (5.5 and 3.5), 100Mb disk, mouse, VGA card/monitor, 128K cache, 2Mb memory, and Windows 3.0 and MS 4.01 >loaded< and ready-to-go. His review was very favorable (but did not include info like maximum RAM, type of hard-disk, expansion capabilities, etc.). Positive's phone number is (818) 341-5400.
