$ I have a simple DOS question...
$ Does anyone know why, if you have a directory called c:\test,
$ MSDOS 3.3 allows you to type
$ dir c:\test\
$ but MSDOS 4.01 returns an "Invalid directory" error?
$
Don't exactly know why. But MesSDOS 4.01 certainly has some odd (stupid ?)
behaviours. On top of what you said, "dir /w c:" on 3.3 will give you
a directory listing of drive c: whereas in 4.01, it will give you a
directory listing of the current drive ! Somehow, someone decided that
in 4.01 that you should say "dir c: /w" instead. :-(
I just use 4DOS with 4.01, and either "dir c: /w" or "dir /w c:" works
fine. Haven't try the "dir c:\test\" stuff intentionally yet. But if my
memory doesn't fail me, it should work. .... Conclusion ?? COMMAND.COM of
MesSDOS 4.01 is FUBAR ??? :-)
