Since I am to cheap to buy the Epson Emulation cartridge for my Deskjet,
does anybody out there know of a printscreen utility that understands
the Deskjet?

Yes, I use following from simtel20.army.mil (26.2.0.74)
Directory PD1:<MSDOS.LASER>
Filename Type Length Date Description

HPPS76.ARC B 8693 890822 LaserJet+/SeriesII CGA/EGA print screen driver
Even if it says to be for LaserJet, it can be used with DeskJet .
