[net.ham-radio] puzzling question

rachiele@NADC (08/26/85)

While studing for my Tech test, I found a strange question in the question
pool. The question is, What is the 12 meter band? The answer was, 24.79
to 24.99. Is this a Ham band? What class? All the other question in that
section refered to Ham bands, but no chart of Ham frequencies ever listed
that band, including the chart in the same book I got the question from!
(ARRL general study guide 1985-86) Can anyone shed some light on this?

I haven't received my Tech. license yet nor found the FCC ruling on the 12m
freq. range either, but my HW-5400 indicates that 24.89-24.99 is the legal
range for this band. I am interested in some others' response too
