Ok, my 386SX search has boiled down to two companies, Insight and HD Computers. The very limited response that both machines got on the net has been positive Still I have my doubts for the following reasons: The Insight machine has a Toshiba floppy and a Conner 40 meg hard drive, compared to the HD which has A TEAC floppy and a Western Digital 40 meg hard drive. It's my understanding that Conner and Toshiba are the better products. Is this true? Secondly, Insight uses a Hyundai VGA monitor with a BOCA VGA card which they claim is Orchid Compatiable. The HD comes with a PC Craft VGA monitor and a OEM Paradise VGA card. I have concerns about the BOCA card and the no name PC Craft monitor. Does any one have any suggestions. Mostly, I am worried about the motherboard. Insight uses a Chips and Tech motherboard which appears to be fairly standard. On the other hand, HD uses a generic motherboard called Data Esput(Im not sure about that, the guy on the phone was hard to understand) which is made in Taiwan. Isnt it best to stay away from the generic motherboard? Both companies seemed fairly friendly and knowledgeable. Insight quoted me a price of $1405 for a 1 meg, 1 floppy, 40 meg hard drive, VGA system, while HD quoted me a price of $1290 for the same system. Based on price alone HD seems like the best deal, but like I said, Im not sure of its components. Any info would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Adam Cable C15102151@RVAX.CCIT.ARIZONA.EDU
