san felix.  ce0aa is still active on 80 through 15 meters, both
ssb  and cw.  watch for operators fernando and max on 21030 khz
at 1600z, 14236 khz at 2300z, 7085 khz at 0800z and 3795 khz at
0530  and  0930z.   qsls  should  go only to box 700, santiago,
chile.

chad.  tt8cw, henri, formerly fb8zq,  is  now  reported  to  be
signing  tt8cw.  he was first reported at 2300z on 14010 khz on
wednesday.  henri also promises 10, 15 and 40 meter cw.   watch
for him on 40 meters between 0430 and 0500z.

guinea bissau.  j5wwd has been heard lately between  14230  and
14240 khz around 0200z.  qsl to home callsign ub5wad.

macquarie island.  graeme, vk0gc, is reported  to  be  back  on
macquarie  and  plans all band activity for the next year.  qsl
as before.

zone 23.  a new station, ua0yo, has been heard  and  worked  on
the  east  coast  of north america, long path, at 1130z on 7006
khz.

contest expeditions.  a large number of expeditions  are  being
planned  for  the cq ww phone contest to be held october 27 and
28.  listen to subsequent dx bulletins for further updates.

cambodia. sxu1ss is still appearing every sunday  at  1200z  on
14245  khz.   signals  have been getting stronger each week and
have been well over s9 throughout most of north  america.   qsl
to ja1hqg.

ecuador.   a  special  event  station  from  quito,  hc1a,   is
scheduled to operate during the 24 hour period october 13 only.
operations are scheduled full time on 160  through  10  meters,
both phone and cw.

propagation.  with winter nearing in the  northern  hemisphere,
static  levels  have dropped and activity has resumed on 80 and
160  meters.   this  season  is  the  best  time  for   working
transequatorial  dx,  such  as australia and south africa, from
north america on the low  bands.   also  watch  for  long  path
openings on 40 meters at both local sunrise and sunset.

160 meters.  stations heard within the last two  weeks  on  160
meters include kj9w/kh2, hb0nl and 9j2tj  ar

thanks to kb1be and the  connecticut  dx  association  for  the
following dx information.

the congo.  tn8ee is active on 20 and 40 meter cw, around 1930z
on  14029  khz and later on 7 mhz.  he is expected to be on ssb
on friday the 13th, at 2130z on 14236 khz.

grenada.  don, j37ah, is back on grenada and is very active  on
the  20  meter ssb nets.  he plans to operate on 40, 80 and 160
meters this fall and winter.

kermadec island.  chris,  zl7oy,  returns  to  kermadec  around
september  20  as  zl8oy.   after  october  1, his call will be
zm8oy.

tokelau islands.  ron, zl1amo, will activate tokelau october 10
or  12 for a dxpedition as zk(??) replacing the zm7 call.  look
for him on 20  and  40  meter  cw.   there  will  be  some  ssb
operation  as well.  he is expected to be on 14236 khz at 2330z
on october 19 and 26.

belize.  wa6vnr is expected to operate v3cq october  1  through
7.

macao.  ks9p is expected to operate  xx9sp  from  september  22
through 28.

heard island.  vk2bcc, a radio technician aboard  an  antarctic
research  institute ship, nella dan, will be on heard island in
late september for a five week stay.  his call will probably be
vk0cc.   jim  smith,  p29js/vk9ns,  will try to have him on his
14220 net whenever possible.

willis island.  vk9zb is active on 14220 khz at 0700z, and  may
also be found on 40 and 75 meter ssb around 1000z.

beacons.  a new beacon, lu4aa, began operation on  september  3
as  part  of  the ncdxf 14.1 mhz cw beacon net.  lu4aa will key
for one minute each ten minutes in the 0008 time slot following
zs6dn/b.   another  new  beacon,  hk4lr/b, is expected to begin
operation soon in the 0009 time slot.  further  information  on
