Greetings! I'm looking at purchasing a new computer for my parents and in the package there is an option to replace a 40MB IDE drive with a 100MB Rodime RLL drive. The sales person said that this drive is "certified" at 100MB, and not just a 65MB MFM drive using an RLL controller. My question is is this a good deal? Is the sales person correct that a 100MB RLL is safe? I've heard that RLL's can cause problems. Secondly, can someone explain the differences between RLL/MFM/IDE in an understandable manner? How about ESDI/SCSI? I'll post a summary of letters sent to me at neptune@cup.portal.com Dwayne Farley
