[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Compuadd 386: 20MHz -> 25MHz?

tierney@belegost.endor.cs.psu.edu (Michael B Tierney) (02/13/91)

I have a Compuadd 320 system (386 20MHz).  I recently opened it up and
took a look at the motherboard, and found it had what appears to be a
complete 25MHz chipset (cpu and surrounding chips all indicate 25MHz).
What I'm wondering is what would I have to do to get my system to run
at the full 25MHz. Is there a crystal or timer I need to replace?
If it is possible to do, is it advisable? Could it adversly affect
other parts of my computer (memory, data bus, etc)? Thanks for any
advice you can give,
                                             Mike
