I'm a Mac user who knows very little (any more) about IBMs, but my father, after finding out that I can do so with my Macs, is trying to connect two IBMs together so that he can share the hard disks. I'm wondering if there is the equivalent of Apple's LocalTalk for IBMs, and also if there is a shareware file server around. Mainly I think he wants something cheap i.e. it cost me about $100 to set up my tiny two-Apple network. Can he do something similar for two IBM PCs? Please reply by e-mail, since I don't read this group at all. P.S. If there is shareware around, I'd also need some help in getting it (i.e. which ftp site and what software I need to dearchive stuff etc.) Thanks, Alan Munn <amunn@umd5.umd.edu>
