hello friends i got a 386sx with 2 meg just today the memory above 640k and below 1meg is configured as shadow ram and the one above 1meg as ext memory. i know this by looking at the screen when i boot the pc up i am confused as to how to best use the memory above 640k i am not a big windows fan and i use it sparingly but the windows documentation advises against configuring the extended memory as expanded memory. i don't know whether programs like wordperfect and quattro pro use extended or expanded memory. these programs i use much more than windows. so i am not sure if i should follow windows documentation (and have a big smartdrv) or make the extended memory emulate expanded memory. i have one more question: why is it that my autoexec.bat is not executed if i include SHELL=\DOS\COMMAND.COM in the config.sys? any help is most appreciated. sameer goyal goyal@ccu.umanitoba.ca
