(Checkfree is a program that allows you to electronically send checks. You upload critical info to them and they either electronically transfer funds from your accoount (whenever possilbe) or print out a paper check for you). Has anyone used CheckFree? Had any problems with it? How about the CheckFree interface in Quicken? Somehow, I have trouble trusting anyone else with taking care of my checking. But it seems so convenient! Dave

Comments... My checking account is EASY to balance. Historically this NEVER got done the manual way. I can set up "regular payments" (ie. the car payment) and forget about them. CF pays them religiously every month until it's paid off. I can pay anybody with it (except the IRS & the Court) - not sure why, they just say that these are the only 2 people/things that you cannot pay by EFT - probably some law? The software has several other capabilities - the ability to generate payment histories for accounts, export the register to a spreadsheet, build automatic budgets, annual reports, etc. I'm not certain when CF plans to release version 3.0 as production. It is a BIG enhancement. Much easier to use, etc. It should be noted that although I am a Beta tester, I do not work for Checkfree.
