[net.ham-radio] New schedule for \"World of Radio\"

wmartin@Almsa-2 (Will Martin -- AMXAL-RI) (09/23/85)

Glenn Hauser's "World of Radio" program (an interesting and wide-ranging
half-hour weekly treatment of many diverse topics all related to radio,
with an emphasis on shortwave broadcasting), is changing its broadcast
schedule on WRNO Worldwide, the New Orleans shortwave station. These
changs are effective immediately -- one went into effect this last
weekend, and the other will occur next weekend.

The GMT Saturday morning (US Friday night) broadcast is moving earlier
to avoid poor propagation and interference at its former 0430 GMT time.
It will be aired at 0300 GMT Saturdays effective this next weekend
(that is 10 PM Friday Central Daylight Time, 27 Sept 85), but will still
be on its former frequency of 6185 kHz.

The Saturday night/GMT Sunday morning broadcast, formerly at 0130 GMT,
would be preempted by football games if it remained in that slot.
Therefore, it was moved to 2330 GMT Saturdays, which is 6:30 PM
Saturday Central Daylight Time. The frequency changes to 9770 kHz.
This already became effective on Saturday, 21 Sept 85.

The Sunday GMT 1300 broadcast on 9715 kHz (8 AM CDT Sundays) remains
unchanged.

These will all move one hour later in November with the US changeover
to standard time, by the way.
