qst de k9eui hr arrl bulletin nr 82 from arrl headquarters newington ct september 23, 1985 to all radio amateurs bt there is encouraging news from mexico. replies to health and welfare inquiries sent to mexico are being received and delivered by american amateurs. telephone service is slowly being restored in the disaster areas, but citizens should not, repeat not, attempt to use phone lines to call into mexico as they are currently reserved for official communications only. the u.s. state department is handling inquiries concerning u.s. citizens in mexico at telephone 202 653 7959. american amateurs are advised to continue routing all messages to mexico through nts, the national traffic system, or through independent nets. direct contact with mexico should be left to the established emergency circuits. frequencies on which organized emergency communications with mexico are already established must be kept free of interference, and from intrusion by well meaning bystanders. any further information concerning this event will be announced through w1aw bulletins ar
