Can someone tell me if there is a way to selectively load device drivers upon booting a pc. I have a 286 clone that I would like to have query me upon boot up to load certain device drivers. The problem is, the device drivers are .SYS files that normally get loaded from the config.sys file. I run Windows 3.0 and I would like to select upon booting whether to load the device drivers or not. I don't need them loaded if I'm not planning on doing any printing. I know that I can use something like Norton's ASK.EXE in my autoexec.bat file to selectively load things but this doesn't affect the config.sys obviously. Do I have to change the device driver files to .EXE files or something crazy like that ? So that basic question is, how do I selectively load files that normally get loaded from the config.sys file ?? Thanks in advance for any and all help. Ciao, chrisg@olivej
