_R_o_d_r_i_g_u_e_s_. 3B8DA/3B9 can be found on 28550 kHz at 1300Z and
around 14215 kHz at 0330Z.
_Z_D_7_,__8_,__a_n_d__9_. ZD7BW, ZD8LM, ZD9BV, ZD9BX, and ZD9YL may
all be found on 21335 kHz between 1700 and 1900Z. They are
usually on three or four days each week.
_C_e_n_t_r_a_l__A_f_r_i_c_a_n__R_e_p_u_b_l_i_c_. TL8TX plans a long stay. Look
for him on 21280 kHz at 1700Z and 28700 kHz at 1300Z.
_S_o_u_t_h_e_r_n__S_u_d_a_n_. 9Y4RD/ST/0 plans a two month operation.
Present activity is mainly on 10 and 15 meter ssb.
_M_a_l_a_g_a_s_y_. 5R8AL is back and is active on Monday and
Wednesday on 21330 kHz at 1700Z. Look for him also on rtty
on 21095 kHz at 1900Z. F6EXV hopes to operate 5R8AL for two
weeks in mid-March.
_C_o_m_o_r_o_s_. D68AM is due up on 21285 kHz at 1800Z on
Wednesday, February 23.
_U_g_a_n_d_a_. 5X5FS is on 21280 kHz at 1800Z on Fridays and on
28600 kHz at 1700Z on Saturdays. QSL to EI9G.
_I_r_a_q_. YI1BGD may be found on the low end of the 20 meter
ssb band around 1500Z on Saturdays.
_S_o_u_t_h__O_r_k_n_e_y_s_. Sunday evenings find VP8AOB on 14220 kHz
around 0300Z.
_M_o_r_o_c_c_o_. CN8EU is very active on 21295 kHz at 2200Z. QSL

_M_a_r_c_h__R_u_m_o_r_s_. There may be operations from Clipperton and
from Malpelo in March. Details as they develop.
_G_r_a_n_d__T_u_r_k_s_. VP5MOX will be on cw for the contest this
weekend and plans ssb operation before and after, through
Wednesday.
_1_6_0__M_e_t_e_r_s_. It is reported that W1FC became the first W1 to
work Japan on 160. He contacted JA8IEF at 1134Z on the
13th, with signals apparently coming long path.
_B_e_a_c_o_n_s_. The Northern California DX Foundation is seeking
volunteers to monitor the Worldwide Beacon Net now partially

providing a new country for many on 160 meter ssb. Watch

meter ssb.
_A_m_s_t_e_r_d_a_m__a_n_d__S_t_.__P_a_u_l__I_s_l_a_n_d_s_. FB8ZQ can be found on 7003
kHz at 0030Z and will also make skeds for 80 meters. QSL to

_B_r_u_n_e_i_. VS5MS is on 14210 kHz at 1200Z. QSL via N2OO.
_N_a_m_i_b_i_a_,__S_o_u_t_h_w_e_s_t__A_f_r_i_c_a_. ZS6BPJ/ZS3, Karel, can be found
on 7005 kHz at 0530Z. He is also active on 28030 kHz and
has been looking for contacts on 160 meters.
_G_a_b_o_n_. TR8JD can be found on 14044 kHz at 0045Z.
_C_h_i_n_a_. BY1PK and BY8AA have been heard in QSO with each
other on 14058 kHz at 0050Z. The operators at BY8AA are Lml

CORA, which has recently been admitted to IARU, will sponsor
an August DXpedition to Clipperton, FO00. Operators will be
FO8GM, FO8IW, K1CC, N6PO, W6OAT, W6SZN, WA6AHF, and WB6GFJ.

K1MM has been invited to operate BY1PK. Bill will be the
first U.S. amateur to operate from BY1 since 1948.

TZ8DC will be active July 14 through 24. DJ2BW will operate
cw on 80 through 10 meters while DL8DC is on 20, 15, and 10

BY1PK was operated for one hour on July 7 by K1MM. Although
many stations were worked, only one continental U.S. and
one European were contacted. Bill hopes that with this
break further operations will be allowed. He reports that
BY1QH is at a university fifteen miles from Beijing and will
soon be active. Without the city's high noise level, DX
should be easier to work. Six thousand amateur operators
are now qualified in China.

VK9NS reports a very favorable letter received from the
authorities. He has begun DXpedition planning.

3X4EX is very active, including 3798 kHz at 0300Z. Arild

If you are after a book on cryptology, I do not recommend this one. Kahn's book "The Codebreakers" was a great book, however "Kahn on Codes" is a waste of time and money. It is mainly a collection of various papers previously presented elsewhere and does not offer anything new or different. The arrl did not have a dx bulletin available again this week!

qst de k9eui sept 23, 1985 Sorry but there was no DX bulletin copied here this week. Either they screwed up or else the propagation was bad but several times this past week when I have tried to get W1AW at 5pm local, they were not there. Will keep that in mind in the future.......
