My latest batch of RAM just popped up in the mail yesterday, and as I'm about to pop it in the SIMM sockets, I'm thinking that something looks wrong here... I compare it to the other 1Mx9 SIMMs in the memory board and note that they seem to be shy six chips, then I remember: apparently the chip manufacturers have been pushing the 4M ram chips and my memory suppliers have switched over--instead of 9 1M chips, now I get 2 4M chips and a 1M chip. Of course, in the article I read, the 4M chips cost little more than 1M chips and these SIMMs cost as much as the last batch so gee, there's capitalism at work. Something on the order of $30 bonus profit per SIMM... I think I want to sell hardware instead of buy it ;-) -dh
