[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] PC remote-control software

glenn@welch.jhu.edu (Glenn M. Mason) (03/13/91)

Does anyone have any comments/opinions on PC-remote control software
packages available? I have heard of BLAST, PC-Anywhere and Carbon
Copy.

I have tried BLAST, but learned after much aggrivation that it can
not scan VGA displays, only mono, CGA or EGA. I have not tried the
other packages. Price is also of some importance ... I have a price
of $135/copy for CC (but I hear it requires that you buy 2 copies).
PS-Anywhere requires that you only purchase a single copy to provide
access between 2 PCs (I am told).

How about Close-Up by the Norton-Lambert Company. This is a product
put out by the same Peter Norton of the famed Norton Utilites (tm).

Not use what graphics Close-Up will handle either.

I think the price for Close-Up includes software for both sides of your
connection.

That's about all I know though. Hope it helps.
