A friend of mine, without access to the net, asked my advice
on the following question. I wasn't able to help, so I've
turned to the net.
Her office makes heavy use of Lotus Freelance Plus, version 3.0.
Apparently this program supports the HP LaserJet printers, and
the old (and I believe now discontinued) HP DeskJet printer.
Up to now the office has used the LaserJet printer with Freelance,
but that (for office reasons) is no longer possible. So they need
to buy a new printer to use with Freelance. The price of the
new HP DeskJet+ 500 printer is very good, and it's both
reasonably fast and quiet. That's the printer they want to buy.
But it seems that Freelance doesn't currently support the DeskJet+
500.
Phone calls to Lotus and HP were entirely unhelpful. Neither
company would say anything about the prospects of future
support.
My question: can anyone offer any advice to help my friend
make her purchase? Is it well nigh certain that Lotus will
support this new printer?
