Hi, I really need some information on harddrives and controllers. I have an AT&T 6386/16 WGS with a Winchester WD1006 harddrive controller and a Micropolis 71M MFM harddrive. The problem is that the drive is running out of space. I have a choice of buying another MFM drive and put it onto the existing controller, or through away the existing controller and the existing drive and buy a new controller and drive. I need to know if my existing controller can handle two drives (of the same type). Can anyone help? What are your opinions on what I should do? Any comment is welcome. You can easily add a second MFM drive to the second channel, drive 1. Some considerations: Power Supply - is yours have enough wattage to support a second large hard drive (if it is 200W or better, your OK.), does your current hard drive cable have connectors for two drives? - if not you'll need to get one along with the smaller data cable, and lastly, can your case support another drive device?
