I've recently inherited a funky old IBM PC proper, with a hard drive and a very questionable floppy drive. The floppy drive seems to read my disks okay, once I wriggle them into place, but I'm really concerned that it's going to start eating my disks. I recall hearing about a way to re-align floppy disk drives that was reasonably painless, and I think that's the first thing I should try. Can anyone give me any information, or other suggestions on handling a disk drive that seems slightly obstructed by something? Thanks. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: This is Not Chris Conway, | Philosophy is useless, this is Lily-Rose using his login. | Theology is worse. wombat@jupiter.nmt.edu | -- Dire Straits

Floppy drives are so cheap nowdays, why not just throw it away and buy a new one... I'm sure it will save alot of hassles. --- Richard Begg (richard@ariel.ucs.unimelb.edu.au) Programmer ASIS/ITS - University of Melbourne
