[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Citizen 120D graphics mode problem

bob@omni.com (Bob Weissman) (03/26/91)

I've been having problems printing on my Citizen 120D in graphics mode.

Some commercial programs, like TurboTax and AllWays, put the 120D into
graphics mode to print special fonts & graphics. The problem is that part
way into the printout, the 120D stops dead with its "Paper Out" light lit,
even though it has plenty of paper.

I asked the TurboTax people whether anyone else had reported this problem,
and they said no.

Do any of you 120D owners have this problem, and if so, did you find a fix
or workaround? (Sending "ESC 8" to indicate "ignore paper out" works only
inconsistently.)

Please let me know. If nobody else has this problem, I'll assume it's
hardware and get the printer serviced. TurboTax and AllWays are (so far)
the only programs I've found which exhibit the problem.

Thanks,
