Could someone please give me some advice on getting two hard drives to work off a single controller in an XT clone? my hardware configuration is: 640K 2xFDD, serisal paralletl etc. 2 * Miniscribe 3650 drives (40mb formatted) 1 * Hard drive controller Phoenix BIOS I've tried just about everything I could thing of - changing drive seect jumpers, using a twisted daisy chain instead of a flat cable (I have both) and basically every possible combination of these. Both drives start up OK, but then one sounds like its trying to seek past the last track, and then I get all sorts of problems - but it always ends up with Disk Boot Failure. Both drives work fine when they are the only drive on the controller - and I have tried this with another controller, so it doesn't appear to be a problem with the drives or controller themselves - just the configuration of these. For what its worth, the controller I am using is a Data Technology 5150X which is an ST-506 controller. If anyone knows how to run both drives off the one controller, I would greatly appreciate knowing too. Replies by e-mail, and I will summarise to the net if anything interesting comes up.
