Among the big, multipaged ads in Computer Shopper, Warehouse 54 seems to have some of the lowest prices on 386 systems. I called and they seem to use qua- lity components (eg. Intel motherboard, Toshiba HD, Teac floppy drive, Orchid Pro II video card in their 33 MHz machine). Has anyone dealt with these people? I will soon be enquiring about them from the Better Business Bureau and will post the results on the net. Meanwhile, if anyone has something to say about them, please post (or mail me and I'll post a summary). They do not appear in the Products file, by the way. Another company, HD computers, has prices about as low. They got one favorable review in the Products file, but has anyone dealt with them recently? They have toll-free support, but only for 7 days (hehe hehehe)..They seem to use a lot of unknown parts, eg. Data Expert motherboards (OPTI chipset, made in USA), Impression monitors by PC Craft, an OEM Tseng 4000 - based video card, chinon floppies. To be fair, they use the Connor 120 MByte drive. Both places offer 30 day money back guarantees. I have no connection with either place except as a potential customer. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Iskandar Taib | The only thing worse than Peach ala Internet: NTAIB@AQUA.UCS.INDIANA.EDU | Frog is Frog ala Peach Bitnet: NTAIB@IUBACS ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
